Paul A. Shubnell of Lower Makefield Township, PA died on Friday November 18, 2016 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, PA. He was 80. Born in Detroit, MI, a son of the late Felix and Helen Blum Shubnell, formerly of Northville, MI and Palm Coast, FL, and has been a Lower Makefield resident for the past three years. Paul was a retired accountant with General Motors & Detroit Diesel. He was graduated from St. Joseph's High School (now De La Salle Collegiate), and received his BS and MBA from the University of Detroit. Paul was the enthusiastic keeper of his family's genealogy charts. Each summer at the family's annual gathering in Michigan, Paul would review the family's history for the attendees which sometimes numbered over a hundred. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Walsh Shubnell; three children Michael P., Steven J., and Christine A. Shubnell; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Geri Shubnell; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean Gerstler, and Mary Lou and John Kuehn, and a grandchild, Casie Wagner and her husband, Jacob. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1pm on Tuesday at St. Andrew Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA, where family and friends may call from12pm. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Yardley, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or De La Salle Collegiate, 14600 Common Road, Warren, MI 48088.
