Flavia Syfrett Dardes died peacefully on Saturday, December 17, with her family by her side. A resident of Yardley, PA for the last 46 years, Flavia was the loving wife of Michael and mother to Paul (Carol) of Harleysville, PA, Dianne (Stephen) of Seattle, WA, Susan (David) of Lahaska, PA, and John (Nicole) of Yardley, PA. Born in Chipley, Florida, Flavia was the 11th of 13th children of John and Ida Syfrett. Upon graduating from Chipley High School, and attending Florida State University, Flavia began her career as an administrative assistant at the United States Naval Base in Panama City, Florida. While there, she caught the eye of a young officer. After a year-long courtship, she married Michael in what turned out to be a 61-year romance. Soon after, they began raising a family in Easton, PA. Flavia and Mike moved to the Yardley area in 1968. In the 1970s, Flavia began a very successful career selling residential real estate in Bucks County, retiring in 2003. Flavia will always be remembered for her unwavering honesty, discipline, strength, and respect for others. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie, Abram, John Paul, Gene, Ross, and Quentin, and her sisters, Olga, Ola, Mae Drew, and Hettie. She is survived by her sisters Elaine and Frances. She will be greatly missed by her family, especially her favorite people: granddaughters Katy, Becky, and Alexa, and grandsons Austin and Miles. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday at the Woodside Presbyterian Church, 1667 Edgewood Road, Yardley. Friends may call from 5pm to 8pm Thursday at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Flavia's honor may be made to St Jude Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Woodside Presbyterian Church.
