She was the sister of the late Laurene Steiger Kelly and Daniel Steiger, both of Cleveland, OH. Meryl was the proud graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Cleveland, OH. After school she worked as a bank teller at Society for Savings in Cleveland. She married Charles in 1956, and raised her six children with him. They moved to Yardley in 1968 and became parishioners of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She remained a faithful parishioner to the end. She worked with special needs children in the Pennsbury School District as a teacher's aide for many years. She was a friend to many who was especially fond of playing bridge, and "luncheoning" with her friends from all avenues of her life. Meryl's love of children and children's love of her was the centerpiece of her life. Her devotion to her children, grandchildren, and the special needs children with whom she worked was obvious to all. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am Wednesday at St. Ignatius Church in Yardley. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5pm to 8pm Tuesday at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, and from 10am until time of service Wednesday at the church.
