We are neighbors of the Filipowicz family and first came to know John and Bonnie through their son, Ryan. In those early days after we moved here, Ryan was about 13 years old, and we quickly recognized what a respectful and impressive young man he was. Through his love of baseball, Ryan became something of a big brother to our son, Julian. It was clear to us that Ryan was raised with strong values, and his example played a meaningful role in our decision to more closely consider – and ultimately have Julian attend – Holy Ghost Prep.
As the years passed and the kids grew up, I had the opportunity to get to know John and Bonnie much better. John and I developed a genuine friendship. Every few months, we would meet – most often at Millie’s in Yardley Borough – for breakfast, where we talked about work, family, and life.
In the early days of my consulting business, John was also part of our team and provided invaluable support. Through the many work stories he shared, his empathy for others and his strong, principled convictions were always evident.
I will deeply miss John – seeing him on his walks as I drove by, and especially our conversations and shared stories over breakfast at Millie’s.
