Nancy L. Kressler Obituary

Our beloved Nancy (Sue) Kressler, 94, of Newtown, Pennsylvania, left us peacefully on December 16, 2025.

Sue was born on July 18, 1931, in Rockville Centre, New York, to Muriel (née Dodge) and Philip Loux. She was preceded in death by her parents and her dear husband Jim, the love of her life. They shared more than 60 wonderful years of marriage, and even after he was gone, her love for him never faded. Sue was also predeceased by two granddaughters, Lauren Kressler and Courtney Daly.

As a proud Navy wife, Sue welcomed her two sons while moving with Jim's postings—David arrived in Athens, Georgia and Bob in Newport, Rhode Island. Soon after, the family settled in Framingham, Massachusetts, where their daughter Nancy was born. Life took them to Chicago for a time, but Sue never warmed to the bitter cold, snow, and wind. They returned to Massachusetts before Jim's work brought them to Yardley Pennsylvania in 1970. That became home for 40 years, though every winter they escaped to their cozy house at Harbour Ridge in Palm City, Florida for sun, golf, and the beach. In 2010, Sue and Jim left Florida and Yardley and moved into Pennswood Village in Newtown, PA, where she made many close friends and where Sue became known—affectionately—for always speaking her mind.

For years Sue devoted herself to her family as a housewife. Once the children were in high school, she took a job as Manager of the Bucks County Raquet club in Washington Crossing PA, partly for the company, and partly to have her own "fun money." When Jim retired, she picked up golf just to spend more precious time with him on the course.

Sue adored her children—David, Bob, and Nancy—and worried about them constantly. She was always ready with an offer of help or a gentle (or not-so-gentle) reminder to call more often or come visit soon.

She leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Jennifer Duda of Newtown, PA; Katharine Pape of Graham, NC; Erin Macdonald of Pittsburgh, PA and Elizabeth (Tiffany) Briscoe of Jeffersonville, IN; as well as four great-grandchildren who brought her such joy: Cameron Kressler, Nathan and Brooke Duda, and Alice Pape.

Sue faced life's challenges with remarkable strength and determination. A 30-year breast cancer survivor, two knee replacements, and hammer toe surgery, yet she met every hardship head-on with an unbreakable will to live.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her warm heart, sharp wit, and fierce love. Rest in peace, dear Sue—we will carry you with us always.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.
