Kathleen T. Maiorino, 94, of Bensalem, PA passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025. Born September 23, 1931, in Trenton, NJ she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Ferdinand Maiorino; her mother and stepfather, Catherine Irwin (née D’Arcy) and Leo Kane; her father, Charles Irwin; and her dear sisters, Rita Schumacher and Sister Marie Cecilia Irwin. Kathie resided in Lower Makefield Township, PA for over 50 years before moving to Juniper Village in Bensalem.
Kathie was a graduate of Trenton Central High School in Trenton, NJ, and in addition to raising 5 children, worked at Abrams Hebrew Academy in Yardley, PA. She was a longtime member of St. Ignatius of Antioch parish in Yardley, PA, and later a member of St. John the Evangelist parish in Morrisville, PA. Although Kathie held many titles, her favorite was “Mom-Mom” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent as much of her free time as possible enjoying her grandchildren and extended family, as well as crocheting and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kathie will be forever remembered for her kindness and joyful spirit. She was a vibrant, social presence with a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor that brought laughter to everyone around her. Loved by all who knew her, she had a gift for making people smile and feel welcome.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marybeth and Francis Chapman of Lower Makefield; four sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick T. and Patricia Maiorino of Mercerville, NJ, James and Debra Maiorino of Trumbauersville, PA, Thomas and Monica Maiorino of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Donald and Sarah Maiorino of Charlotte, NC; her sister-in-law Elsie Little of Newport Beach, CA; 14 grandchildren—Alison, Bianca, Andrew, Meredith, Christopher, Melissa, James, TJ, Vincent, Robert, Elizabeth, Patrick, Jack and Olivia—and seven great-grandchildren—Julia, Bennett, Catherine, Lane, Aria, Brecken, and Salvatore; sisters-in-law; Elsie Little of Newport Beach, CA and Patricia Keefer Maiorino of Lower Makefield, PA..
Kathie’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11:30am at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church, 999 Reading Ave Yardley, PA. Calling hours for friends and family will be held from 10:00am to 11:15am at the church. Interment will follow on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 1:30pm at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830 Highland Road Newtown, PA 18940.
