Helen M. McClave Obituary

Helen McClave, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 18, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late George and Lillian (Dunnett) Rodgers and was preceded in death by her twin brothers, George and Kenneth Rodgers.

Helen is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of sixty-one years, Thomas. Additionally, she is survived by her four children: Thomas (Kimberly), Timothy (Anna), Debra (William) and Daniel (Christin), nine grandchildren: Tommy (McKenzie), Brianna (Jean), Mekenzie (Jake), Alyssa, Samantha, Aiden, Torin, Jude and Rylan, and five great-grandchildren: Jack, Caden, Henry, Micaela, and Elijah. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Barna, along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends, all of whom she loved dearly.

Helen was born in Haddonfield, NJ and graduated from Bristol High School. Helen and Thomas McClave were married in 1964 and lived in Hulmeville, PA for sixty years. For over three decades Helen was employed as the office manager for Smith Roofing before retiring in 2015. Those she worked with became like her second family.

Our mom took great pride in her home and welcomed friends and family there time and again. From Christmas Eve dinner to her annual Fourth of July celebration, her home was the setting for so many shared memories. Our mom was an exceptional cook and baker. She enjoyed gardening, her weekly women's bible study, board games and family vacations, especially in Florida and Long Beach Island, NJ.

"GMom" as the grandkids called her loved and adored her grandchildren. All the time they spent together brought her great joy and created memories that her grandchildren will always cherish.

Above all else, our Mom was a God-fearing, independent woman. She had a gentle spirit and a servant's heart. Along with her husband, Helen dedicated many years volunteering in support of Christian youth ministries. They attended Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia.

Helen's love will live on in our hearts until our joyous heavenly reunion.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 10th, 2025, with visitation from 3:30pm to 5:00pm and a service to follow at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19116.

We kindly ask that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia.
