I first met Gus more than fifty-five years ago when his family and ours moved into our new homes on Breece Drive in Yardley. For the following thirty years, we shared in the life passages of our daughters; school days, birthday parties, garage sales, boyfriends, proms and weddings. Over those years we lived there, Gus was exactly as portrayed in the tribute above. He was “a little bit country”, the best neighbor, husband and father. He had an exceptionally heartwarming, disarming quality about him. We were privileged to have known this beautiful soul.

Gus was a huge part of my childhood. My sisters and I grew up 2 doors down from his family… I remember him sitting in the middle of the street in the folding chair to slow down the cars driving past our houses ..My last memory was when he helped decorate our car after my wedding at our home in Yardley. And always with the red socks on …

I'm so sad to hear about Gus. I count him among the most positive influences in my childhood. He was always up for fun, encouraging and teasing in the most lighthearted way. I remember him loving the sun and the pool and his "Ruth Anne". I bought my first car from him! A red Ford Pinto! He was good and gracious and kind. It's so nice to know you had him as long as you did. I hope you can all find comfort today and sending lots of love.

RIP Gus. My family and are were so thankful to have met and spend time with you on several occasions while you and Ruth visited your son David in Virginia Beach (Sandoval Drive). We will pray for your family as we know they are missing you, however we pray they find comfort knowing that you and Ruth are now together again. Gus was my neighbor and my friend. He was always there to lend a hand, to share a story, or to simply take the time for a chat. His presence will be greatly missed. Both he and his wife Ruth were such open, warm and welcoming people. I am deeply saddened by his passing. He will be very much missed. God grant him peace.

I am so thankful I got to see Gus about a month ago and also reconnect with Stephanie and Stephen. I have many fond memories of Gus and many that still make me chuckle. He was always happy to see you, greeting you with a smile and loved to chat. Living next door, the Schneiders were apart of my story growing up and memories I will cherish forever. Rest in Peace Gus. Ruth and Gus were the best neighbors to my family back on Breece Drive from 1972-1980. They were always so kind and loving and giving. My brother Greg and I loved Ruths spaghetti and meatballs, and Gus was always so welcoming. He always knew what I was up to - even if it was no good - he had that ability - yet he never admonished me - he just expressed to me that I make good decisions. I'll never forget that. Sage advice. God bless him. Best to Stephanie, David and John. So sorry for your loss.
