Joseph William Prince Jr. Obituary

Joseph W. Prince Jr., loving husband and devoted father, passed away on April 14th, 2026, at the age of 74 surrounded by his adoring family.

Joe was born on November 23rd, 1951 in Trenton, New Jersey to Rita Topley and Joseph W. Prince Sr. He graduated from St. Vincent College and received his MBA from Rider University. Joe went on to work as an executive in the paper industry, and later as an entrepreneur and business owner. Known as a leader and innovator, Joe was extremely dedicated to his craft, always writing creative ideas in his various notepads and connecting people and ideas within his vast relationship network. His business colleagues often leaned on him for inspiration, collaboration, and a lot of laughs.

Joe reconnected with the beautiful Betty Jo Fiorello, the love of his life, through one of his best friends while on a golf trip in Atlanta in 1986. They married and settled down a few years later in Yardley, PA and had a devoted, lasting marriage of 38 years. Joe and Betty Jo were inseparable - from traveling the world with family, to trips to Belmar beach, or locally to Restaurant Depot (as they were the ultimate hosts)- they were always by each other's side.

Soon after Joe and Betty Jo married came their three loving kids: Kelly, Katharine, and Joey. Regardless of all his accomplishments, being their dad was his most cherished role. Joe made each of his children feel like they were his favorite - he was Kelly's fierce protector, Katharine's proudest #1 fan, and Joey's best friend in the world. Joe's larger-than-life character and energy made an everlasting impact on his children and entire greater family.

In his free time, Joe's biggest passion was golf (and everyone else's golf game), having played several hundred courses around the world. He was known as a scratch golfer in his younger years and wouldn't let us forget it! He loved to bring everyone together for his drinks and gatherings or to watch his beloved Eagles and Phillies. Joe always wanted to move his body and rarely missed a workout or a day of activity - from jogging, skiing, and playing squash in his early days, to a robust workout routine through his last days. You would almost always find him on a stationary bike, doing pushups, or traveling with his hand weights and bands.

Joe will be remembered most for his zest for life, positivity, humor, ingeniousness, strength, sensitivity, and the way he radiated love and confidence within his circle.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty Jo, daughters Kelly and Katharine, son Joseph III, pseudo-son Kevin and siblings Susan, Ann, John, and the Fiorello family. Beyond his family, Joe is survived by his many friends, colleagues, and his children's friends, who he and Betty Jo created a home for and loved like their own.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 12:00pm at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley PA. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00am to 11:45am at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS United Mid-Atlantic(www.alsmidatlantic.org) in recognition of Betty Jo's battle with the disease (mention "Betty Jo's Believers" in the comments).
