Fred Russell Rice of Yardley, PA passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 98 years old.

Born in Sparta, Tennessee, he moved to Yardley, PA in the 1940s where he married the love of his life, Almeda Hibbs. Together they raised a close and devoted family.

Son of the late Thomas Rice and Nora Bumbalough, he was preceded in death by his wife Almeda and son-in-law, Tom Ebert. He will be forever missed by his children Fred R. Rice, Jr of Yardley, Robin A. Ebert of Langhorne, Deborah L. Corey (Ron) of Yardley and Sandy Jean Rice (Donald) of Yardley. He is survived by his grandchildren, April (Sean), Tara (John), Cassie (Alex), Ronnie (Mel) and Brianna and his eight great grandchildren, Quinn, Adalind, Skylar, Liam, Fallon, Riley, Aubree and Trevor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Fred was a strong man who worked hard all his life. He was handy and could figure out how to fix anything that needed fixing. He enjoyed spending time with his family having picnics, Sunday dinners, playing volleyball and cards. He always loved to be outside enjoying his flowers and vegetable garden.

Fred and Almeda will be laid to rest together at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 11:00am on Monday, June 22, 2026, to honor him as a Veteran.
