Marion Irene McCartney Rea of Lower Makefield went to Heaven on May 27, 2026.

She was born in Bloomfield, N.J. in 1923. She started her career as a bookkeeper for General Accident in Newark, NJ. In 1949 she married the late Rev. Robert E. Rea. They had only 19 years together when he died at the young age of 42 yrs. They met at Westminster Presbyterian Church and they knew when they met it was love. They served for eight years at Fairview Presbyterian Church in Chester County and then came to Morrisville Presbyterian Church in 1960.

They have three children- James Rea (Rhonda), John Rea (Barbara) and the Rev. Janet Rea Doyle (Dwayne). Marion has five grandchildren: Jonathan Rea (Jill), Jeremy Rea (Jessica), Nickolaus von Dohlen (Ashley), Sarah Doyle, and Andrew Doyle and five great-grandchildren: Jacob Rea, Madeline Rea, Ezra Rea, Jude Rea and Luke von Dohlen. She also has beloved nieces and nephews locally as well as cousins in England and Scotland. She was pre-deceased by her brother, John McCartney.

Marion was very active in both churches where they served. She was Moderator of Presbyterian Women, a Sunday School teacher and a member of Lower Makefield Women's Club and Christian Women's Club, now called the Connection. She also was a member of the "Cheer Bears", a group of women who visited nursing homes and sang for the residents and was an Amway Distributer for many years.

Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, at the Morrisville Presbyterian Church at 771 N. Pennsylvania Avenue Morrisville, PA 19067. Calling hours will be at 10:00am followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00am. Reverend Dr. J. Thomas Kort will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Morrisville Presbyterian Church.
