Helen Olszewski, 96, of Yardley, PA, passed away on February 7, 2025.

Helen was born in Poland. At the age of fourteen she was taken from her mother by the German army and forced to work on a farm until the end of WWII. She never saw her mother again. After several years in refugee camps, she, her husband, and two small children arrived in the United States under the sponsorship of the pastor of St. Hedwig's Parish in Chester, PA. She later moved to Wilmington, Delaware. After losing her husband and encountering health problems, she took up residence at Oxford Crossings Assisted Living facility in Langhorne.

Helen lost her oldest daughter, Christine, 2 years ago but she is survived by her younger daughter, Barbara Hentosh, of Yardley, PA. Helen is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will certainly be missed by all.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 11:00am at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery 654 Ferry Road Doylestown, PA 18901.
