Obituary of Adan M. Powley

Our beloved father, husband, son, and friend to so many, Adan M. Powley, 46, of Yardley, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Adan was native to Auckland, New Zealand where he grew up before spending the last 20 years in the United States. Adan attended Aukland University where he earned a law degree and spent many years at law firms in New Zealand. He resided in California before moving to Pennsylvania in 2012 to build a life with his wife and start a family. Adan was employed by Merrill Lynch in Pennington, NJ, as a Wealth Strategist. Adan was a loving father, husband, and friend. He took time to create memories and share interests with his children – spending hours playing sports with his two sons and thrift shopping with his daughter. As a family, we sought out adventures on our camping, hiking, and bike riding trips, and equally enjoyed our time at home playing board games, watching movies, and planning our family trips. In the summer, he found great joy entertaining his friends and family by the pool. He loved finding unique beers, playing fantasy football, and spending time with his friends. Our "Kiwi," as he was affectionately called, was naturally a rugby fan. He also became an avid Eagles fan who got to cheer his beloved Birds on to two Super Bowl victories. But, most of all, this man of many interests loved his people. Adan could be counted on by everyone – he was always going out of his way to do thoughtful things, and he would do anything for his children and his friends and family. Adan is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Maggie Powley, of Yardley, PA, his beloved children Adelaide, William, and Declan, his parents Stan and Melanie (Taylor) Powley of New Zealand, his mother-in-law Nancy Goodwin, brother-in-law Derrick Schlitter (Sona), his aunt Sharee Taylor, cousin Sam Taylor, uncle Martin Taylor (Nerissa), and many more cousins and friends who were like family to him. Services will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 12:00 pm at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home. 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at the funeral home. Friends and family are invited to join us following the service for a luncheon at the Washington Crossing Inn. 1295 General Washington Memorial Blvd. Washington Crossing, PA 18977.
