With a heavy heart, I remember KyuKyu, a remarkable woman whose strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication touched me. She was a devoted mother, always putting her daughter first with love and care. Her resilience was unmatched, facing every challenge with determination. Though she is no longer with us, her love, strength, and generosity will forever remain in my heart.
Rest in peace, KyuKyu. You are deeply missed but never forgotten.

I loved Kyu Kyu and miss her. I am filled with more memories than I can share here, from our trip to a DC protest against the then Myanmar govt to our worker get togethers, a couple of which included Allie.

Kyu Kyu was a truly kind and lovely person, and even though I only met her on a couple of occasions It was immediately clear just how lovely and welcoming she truly was. Her love and pride in her daughter Allie was also clear for all to see, and that joy and kindness continues on in her. She was loved deeply by those that knew her and will be missed incredibly so, with her memories being cherished forever.

I was lucky enough to meet Allie in Chicago while we attended law school together. At some point during our school years, I met Kyu Kyu when she came to pick up Allie from school. She drove the whole way from New Jersey without stopping or sleeping, an incredible feat. She was barely even tired. Long before I met Kyu Kyu in person, I felt as if I knew her from hearing about her stories and frequent updates from Allie. She had varying and expansive hobbies, interests, and knowledge. Her joy for life and silliness radiated and made everyone who knew her smile. I always loved hearing about her newest adventure or passion. Although, it was always abundantly clear that her greatest passion was her daughter. She was very loved and will be incredibly missed.

I am saddened to learn of Kyu Kyu’s passing. We were colleagues in public service for New Jersey. We worked to support addiction prevention, treatment and recovery research and programming. She was an exceptionally capable professional in our field.

Kyu Kyu was a colleague whose high level of professionalism was matched only by her radiant joy.
I had the honor to work with Kyu Kyu for several years. Her rich professional background, knowledge, humor, and compassion not only elevated the work of the NJ Division of Mental Health & Addiction Services, but inspired many of us.
She will be deeply missed as a colleague, a friend, and as a genuinely good person.

I had my first sleep over at Allie’s house and Kyu Kyu treated me like a daughter. I always loved her beef and rice for dinner and still haven’t found a recipe as good as hers!

While I did not have the good fortune to meet Kyu Kyu, we knew from her daughter Allie that she was an extraordinary woman. Beyond Allie's shared experiences and words is Allie herself through whom Kyu Kyu lives on. Allie is a treasured co-worker and friend to so many and an amazing lawyer cherished by her clients. Without doubt she embodies the values her Mom taught , the exemplary traits her Mom role modeled. Knowing Allie is to know Kyu Kyu was extraordinary, fun loving and committed to making a difference in our world -- and she will truly be missed.
