Obituary of Christian A. Rigby

Christian A. Rigby, 58, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania surrounded by his family. Born on October 26, 1966, in Trenton, New Jersey, Chris lived a life full of energy, warmth, and devotion to those he loved. For 43 years, Chris worked in the bookbinding business as a machine operator and foreman. His dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on his colleagues. He was a skilled tradesman who took pride in his craft. Chris was known for his vibrant personality—he was truly the life of the party and a friend to all who crossed his path. His love for music was evident in his passion for classic rock and the joy he found in attending concerts. Whether relaxing outside with a cold beer in his hot tub or soaking up the sun on beach vacations at the Jersey Shore, Chris found happiness in life's simple pleasures. A devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Chris cheered passionately for his team through every season. His enthusiasm was infectious and often brought people together in celebration. Above all else, Chris cherished his family. He is survived by his son Myles Rigby and daughter-in-law Desiree Rigby; his daughter Caitlyn Rivera and her husband Joe Rivera; his beloved grandchildren Sophia Rigby, Christian Rigby, and Myles Jacob Rigby; his mother Ilene Rigby; siblings Thomas Rigby Jr., Pam Murphy, and Michele Rigby; and his loving partner Peg Mongillo. He also held a special place in his heart for his fur babies who brought him comfort and companionship throughout the years. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Rigby Sr., whose memory remained close to him throughout his life. A visitation with the family will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 South Delaware Avenue Yardley, Pennsylvania. A Celebration of Life to follow at 1:00 PM.
