Barry Richard Sharer, 69, of Yardley, PA, passed away on May 19, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Barry was born in Trenton, NJ to Byron and Bonnie Sharer. He graduated from Pennsbury High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Rider College. He worked as an accountant, starting his own CPA firm in 1984 from which he retired after 40 years. He also spent 30 years working as a NJ Bankruptcy Trustee.
The accomplishments Barry was most proud of was giving back and supporting his community. He restored and renovated the historical The Sea Mist, the "most photographed" home in Cape May, NJ. He created and managed low-income housing for thousands of underserved individuals and their families in New Jersey. For the past 15 years, he volunteered his time and served as Chairman of the Board for Woods Services to provide integrated healthcare for people with behavioral health complexities, autism, and intellectual and developmental disabilities across their lifespan.
With the little free time Barry had, he remained active and enjoyed meeting new people along the way. He served on the Yardley Borough Sewer Authority. He was a classic car and arcade game enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, biking, boating, and taking long walks. He loved spending time in Cape May, NJ and Lake Hopatcong, NJ with his family.
Barry is preceded in death by his father and mother Byron and Bonnie. Barry is survived by his wife Michelle, daughter Monica and her husband Ross, daughter Dana and her husband Marc, son Kaiden, grandson Adrian, sister Cathy, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at FitzGerald- Sommer Funeral Home located at 17 S. Delaware Avenue in Yardley, PA on Thursday May 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services and interment will be held privately for the family.
