Dena Acolia Hoover passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, at Serenity Hospice in Hamilton, New Jersey.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara and her son Raymond and his wife Melanie. She had three grandchildren Katie, Nicholas and Jake and four great grandchildren Hailey,John, Albert and Leigh.
Dena went to Hahnemann Nursing School and graduated top in her class. She then worked as a nurse at Camp Pickett, Virginia and as a visiting nurse in Trenton New Jersey. Dena was a very friendly and caring person and she touched all she came in contact with.
She was the last survivor of seven siblings. Her husband John passed March 17, 2024.
Dena had a full life engaging in many activities with her husband and children like camping trips, skiing and snowmobiling, she even had her owm motorcycle. Needlepoint, tennis and bowling were other hobbies she loved to pursue. She willingly supported her husband for many years when he was Creative Director in New York City. They had several opportunities to travel on many business trips around the world which she loved. After leaving Levitown, Pa, they headed north to Liberty, Pa, beginning their next chapter at Buck Run. Truly a special place where they made life long friends. Dena was active and happy in her later years and enjoyed her assisted living experience.
She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. We love you Dena.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 9:00am at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830 Highland Road Newtown, PA 18940.
