Robert (Bob) Louis Corte, age 94, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025. He was born August 12, 1930, in Bellaire, OH. He was raised in Detroit, MI, where he attended Cass Technical High School before enlisting in the USAF during WWII. He fell in love with technology, working on early heavy ground radar installations in the Pacific Theatre.

After the war, Bob utilized the GI Bill to further his education, graduating from the Electronics Institute of Technology in Detroit. He pursued a career in the technology sector, contributing to projects such as automatic pilots, airborne radar, fire control systems, and ballistic missile impact prediction. Bob took great pride in his contributions to the NASA Apollo program, which successfully landed the first humans on the moon. After the program concluded, he relocated to Gulf Breeze, FL, and worked in the Department of Environmental Protection for the State of Florida until his retirement. In 2024, Bob left his beloved Florida and moved back north to be closer to family. He often reminisced fondly about fishing and boating in the Gulf of Mexico, gardening, or simply enjoying the warm Florida weather.

He is survived by sister, Elizabeth Amici of Dearborn, MI; daughters, Eva France of St. Clair Shores, MI, Marilyn Corte of Brownstown, MI; sons, John Corte (Michelle) of Rahway, NJ, Jim Corte (Colleen) of Yardley, PA, and Jeff Corte (Sherri) of Fairhope, AL; grandchildren, Joel France, Leah France, Jessica Corte, Alexis Corte, Mary Grace Corte, Michael Corte, William Corte, and Elizabeth Corte.

He is predeceased by parents, John and Lena Corte and grandson, Brett France.

Services and interment are being held privately at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation (woundedwarriorproject.org). The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
