Thomas James Burton, 67, of Yardley, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, surrounded by his family at Capital Health Hopewell.

Tom was born in Trenton, NJ, on September 21, 1957. He graduated from Morrisville High School, class of 1975. He was an outstanding football player while in high school and held the title of Leading Pass Receiver in Lower Bucks County in his senior year. After high school Tom enlisted in the US Air Force and spent 6 years serving his country. Once discharged he attended Bucks County community college on the GI Bill. Tom was employed in the corrugated box industry for over 40 years.

Tom loved coaching football for the Morrisville Little Bulldogs. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and loved summer vacations to the beach with his family.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Roberts, stepmother Mary Anne Burton, brother Mark Burton and sister Shirley Wirebach.

Tom is survived by his father Pierson Burton of Plumsteadville, his wife of 40 years Barbara of Yardley, his 4 sons Jason (Julie) of Baltic, SD, Thomas Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Matthew (Michelle) of Levittown, PA, stepson Sean Watson of Yardley and daughter Caitlin of Yardley, three granddaughters AnnMarie Aldridge (Christopher), Lacy Larson and Kacie Watson, five grandsons William Krum, Grant Larson, Lucas Burton, Logan Burton and Leland Burton, three brothers Robert (Kim) Burton, Pierson Burton III and Christopher Bockin, his sister Lynne Goldstein (Dave), and his good friend Ray Bunda (Mary). He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue, Yardley, PA 19067. Interment with military honors will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 9:30am at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830 Highland Road Newtown, PA 18940.
