Michael Walter Lewis, 81, of Lower Makefield Twp., PA, passed away on July 25, 2025.  He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Paterson, NJ, son of the late Roland and Celia Sass Lewis, he resided in Lower Makefield Twsp. for the past 35 years.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, and his Master of Business Administration in Finance from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. Mike went on to begin a long and respected career in Commercial Finance, retiring from JP Morgan Chase in New York City.

Mike was an avid golfer and looked forward to his weekly rounds with his son Ryan. He was gifted a “bucket list” trip to Pebble Beach Golf Resort in California by his family and thoroughly enjoyed the time golfing with his wife and sons.

Mike found a love of vegetable gardening when we purchased our first home in NJ which he continued when we moved to PA, including planting fruit trees.  He worked in the garden every Spring planting a variety of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. The August crop was always amazing and he enjoyed nothing more than his own tomatoes with mozzarella and basil.  Mike also followed the financial markets daily and kept well-informed of world events.

Above all else, Mike was a family man. He had a unique sense of humor and an endless supply of “dad” jokes.  His five children, their spouses and his five grandchildren meant everything to him. Family get togethers were frequent even with his California kids and nothing made him happier than being with all of them. Mike had a work ethic second to none and he passed that on to his children of whom he was so very proud. Mike will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew him

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marlene Gradzki Lewis; three sons, Michael Lewis, Jr and wife Mirela, Joseph Lewis, Ryan Lewis and wife Iryna; two daughters, Meghan Bagnell and Marlaina Lewis; five grandchildren; Emilia Lewis and Benjamin Lewis, Cassidy Bagnell and Jocelyn Bagnell, and William Lewis; his brother Roland Lewis, and cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
