Elizabeth Theresa Barder, 78, a beloved resident of Bensalem for 58 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina on March 22, 1947 to the late Francis Joseph Sullivan Sr. and Eva Josephine Walters.
She was a 1965 graduate of Little Flower High School in Philadelphia and the beloved wife of the late Donald G. Barder Sr. She is survived by her devoted brother, Francis J. Sullivan Jr. (Georgia) of Hainesport, NJ, and her dear sister, Barbara "Bobbie" Parker of Summerville, SC; sisters-in-law, Joann Tully of Hernando, MS, and Margaret (Peg) Parks of Philadelphia; brother-in-law, Angelo Stoduto of Rockledge; and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa's legacy lives on through her loving children: Donald G. Barder Jr. (Michelle), Bethann Barder (James), Robert G. Barder (Jennifer), Joseph G. Barder (Amy), and Lisa M. Barder. She was a proud grandmother to Lisa, Christina, Kristina, April, Evangeline, Holdyn, Anthony, Alexa, Gabriella, and Nina; and a doting great-grandmother to Callista, Leah, Christopher, Jonah, Michael, Evelyn, Elias, Skylar, Arlen, Flynn, and Anderson.
Theresa will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her very strong and determined spirit, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. She was known for ending every visit or phone call with her heartfelt words: "So long, God bless you, I love you."
Calling hours for relatives and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, and again on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue, Yardley, PA 19067. Funeral services will begin promptly at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940, with the Rite of Committal at 11:00AM.
