Courtney Ann Daly (née Kressler), 40, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on August 30, 2025.
She was born on May 28, 1985, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Choosing Joy was more than just a saying it, it was the way Courtney lived her life. She faced each day with a smile, laughter, and a heart open to others. Whether with family, friends, or strangers, she had a way of reminding us that joy is not something we wait for but it is something we choose, again and again.
Courtney graduated from George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania in 2003. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Biology from West Chester University in 2008 and her Master of Education from the University of Massachusetts in 2012. Most recently, she earned her Software Engineering Certificate from Springboard in 2025.
She shared her love of learning as a Math and Science teacher in Massachusetts, California, and Florida, teaching at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida; Chico High School in Chico, California, and Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota. For the past 11 years, she also dedicated herself to coaching alongside her husband, Chris, with the Tsunami Swim Team in Sarasota.
A true Philadelphia Eagles fan, Courtney never missed a chance to cheer on her team, especially from her and Chris' favorite spot at Slim's Place on Anna Maria Island. She found joy in sports throughout her life, playing field hockey, lacrosse, and golf, and inspiring countless young swimmers through her coaching.
Courtney's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 16 years, Christopher Daly; her parents, David and Mary Kressler; her sisters Jennifer Leigh Duda and her husband Christopher, Katharine Frances Pape and her husband Ian, and Erin Elizabeth Macdonald and her husband Matthew; her sister-in-law Cheryl Daly and her husband Ethan Sencer; her grandmother Nancy "Sue" Kressler; her in-laws Charles and Leslie Daly; her nieces Brooke Duda and Alice Pape; her nephews Cameron Kressler, Nathan Duda, and JR Sencer; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the students and athletes whose lives she touched.
Courtney's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00am at Cardinal Mooney High School Selby Center, 4171 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, FL 34232.
An Additional service will take place on Saturday, September 27,2025, at 10:00am at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue, Yardley, PA 19067.
