Edward James Socha, 81, of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born on August 18, 1944, in Ludlow, Massachusetts, Ed proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years, earning repeated recognition for his dedication and service. Following his military career, he continued to support naval operations through his work in engineering, maintenance, and acquisitions until his retirement. Beyond his professional life, Ed enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, and tending to his impeccably kept property. Above all, he was a beloved family man.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Lois (Canterino) Socha; his children, Albert Socha (wife Chantell) and Kimberly Taylor (husband Rowan); his grandchildren, Keira and Taylor; and his brother, Theodore.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. You are welcome to pay respects from 10am with the service beginning at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
Ed will be remembered for his quiet strength, his stoic approach to life's challenges, his steadfast devotion to family and friends, and the surprisingly cheeky sense of humor he revealed once you truly got to know him.
