Carole E. Foster Obituary

Carole Elaine Lineberry Foster, 92, of Lower Makefield Township, PA, gracefully took her final bow on November 19, 2025.

Born in Philadelphia and a proud resident of Lower Makefield for the past 46 years, Carole lived a full life as the matriarch of her home-grown menagerie. She surrounded herself with meaningful work, numerous dance partners, a love for animals, and an ever-growing, loving family.

While Carole began her adult life as a homemaker and full-time mother of three children, she later joined the ranks of the State of New Jersey Department of the Treasury. After 37 dedicated years to the state's Division of Taxation Inheritance Tax team, Carole retired, leaving behind a well-earned professional legacy. While Carole was an avid worker during the day, she found her truest spotlight by night on the dance floor. An active ballroom dancer, she embraced every step and swing; she never had trouble finding a willing partner to whisk her across the floor. Carole danced the way she lived, with ageless grace and an infectious energy you just had to be a part of.

She was the daughter of the late Joel Lee Lineberry and Gladys Caroline Baker Lineberry, the beloved wife of the late Richard N. Foster, and the devoted mother of the late Barry R. Foster. Carole's legacy continues through her daughter, Holly Beth Foster, her son Ronald Steven Foster, along with nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind three cherished feline companions, Butch, Cassidy, and the Sundance Kitty, who brought her daily comfort, laughter, and love.

Private funeral services were held at FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, with interment at Tullytown Cemetery. In keeping with Carole's lifelong love for animals, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Forgotten Cats (www.forgottencats.org). Condolences for the family can be shared at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.

Reunited in glory with her beloved husband Richard, Carole now dances for eternity with her true love. Those who remain and love her will forever keep her warm, infectious laugh and her toe-tapping personality in their hearts.

In her Father's house are many mansions, and the Lord has prepared a place for her (John 14:2–3). And in that eternal home, we trust that her mourning has been turned into dancing (Psalm 30:11) with the confidence of Job's words—that our Redeemer lives and that we shall one day behold Him (Job 19:25–27). We rest in the confidence that Carole now dances in the presence of His everlasting light!
