June M. Miner Obituary

June M Miner passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025.  She was the daughter of the late Josephine and Frank Kratina.  Mrs. Miner was born in Laurel Hill Queens, NY and was predeceased by brothers Francis and Thomas Kratina. June graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1953 and worked as a key punch operator for Con Edison in New York City until she started her family.

She met her late husband Edward Miner in a bowling alley and almost didn’t go on their first date because his car broke down causing him to be late.  Thankfully her mother told her to give him a second chance!  They married in 1960 and had three children.  She is survived by her three children and their spouses; Steven and Julie (Tibolla), Edward and Susan (Barbuto) and Amy and Keith Cunard, seven grandchildren; Kristin, Caitlin, Jack, Kevin, Amelia, Branden and Madi, grandson-in-law Anuj, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many grand nieces and nephews.

June was very competitive and loved bowling in the St. Mathias Women’s League in Somerset, NJ before she switched over to tennis.  She loved going out with friends and staying out late often until places closed.  June and Ed became avid tennis and golf players winning many tournaments in their community in Englewood, FL or Lakewood, NJ.  She became quite talented in Cornhole as well and won many tournaments playing that too.

No one was allowed to disturb her while she watched her beloved soap opera, General Hospital or when watching any of the tennis tournaments or NY Giants.  She was full of spunk and loved to laugh.

A Life Celebration will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, June’s favorite charity was St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Arrangements are under the care of the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA 19067.  Condolences for the family can be left at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.
