John F. Humienny of Lower Makefield Township, PA died Wednesday November 30, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA.
Born in New York, NY and formerly of Floral Park, NY, he resided in Lower Makefield for the past 21 years.
John was a radar and gunnery systems supervisor with Fairchild Republic, and previously retired from Lockheed Corporation at Kennedy Airport. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was awarded the Victory Medal, and the American Theatre Medal.
John was an active member of the Lower Makefield Seniors where he enjoyed all his friends, and playing cards, bowling, softball, and bocce.
John was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a son of the late John Walter and Anastasia Rapejko Humienny, and brother of the late Stanley Humienny. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Mitro Humienny; a daughter, Laurel Boeschen of East Meadow, NY; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Heather Humienny of Lower Makefield, PA, Thomas and Christine Humienny of Riverview, FL, and Mark and Sumayya Humienny of Raleigh, NC; sister-in-law, Irene Ponce of Greenville, SC, and five grandchildren, Ashley, Blair, John and Catherine Humienny, and Jeffrey Boeschen.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lower Makefield. Friends may call from 5pm to 8pm Friday at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, PA.
Interment will be 2:30pm Monday at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
