Edward J. McDade of Lower Makefield Township, PA died on Sunday May 27, 2018 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He was 84. Born in Trenton, NJ and raised in Bordentown, NJ, son of the late Clement and Genevieve (Abby) Erickson McDade, he resided in Lower Makefield for the past 45 years. Edward was an Industrial Engineer with Johnson & Johnson in Skillman, NJ, retiring in 1992. He graduated from Trenton Catholic High School and Rider University, Class of 1956, and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Grace Manning McDade; three sons, Brian McDade of Yardley, PA, Matthew McDade of Teleford, PA, and Neil McDade of Columbus, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Dana McDade and Jeffrey Grossman of Newtown, PA; four grandchildren, Danielle McDade, Liam Behan, and Mallory and Kara Grossman; great granddaughter, Alessa; his brother, James C. McDade of Janesville, WI, and brother-in-law, Bernard Manning of Bensalem, PA. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Friday June 1st at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA. Friends may call from 9am to 10:15am Friday at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, 14500 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19116.
