Obituary of Frank E. Begg
Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frank E. Begg, 55, passed away unexpectedly on August 5th, 2016. Frank was born and raised in Trenton, NJ and spent the majority of his adult life as a resident of Upper Makefield, PA. He was the loving husband of thirty-three years to Terri Begg and a wonderful father to his children, Jonathan and Alexandra Begg. In addition to his family, Frank leaves behind his mother, Joyce Begg, his father Bruce Begg, his sister, Debra Altholtz, his brother Darren Begg, sister Chris Begg, many adoring nieces and nephews, and other extended family. His biological father, Frank J. Kramarz Jr., preceded him in death.
Throughout most of his life , Frank was involved in commercial roofing. He was the president of Aetna Roofing Corporation for thirty years and most recently owner of Frank Begg Corporation. Frank was influential in building projects for Princeton University, UPenn, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Rider College, Macy's, and numerous shopping malls in the tri-state area. Although his career was abruptly shortened, it's clear he left a significant impression on the industry having received countless professional awards and accolades for his achievements.
Frank took exceptional pride in his business success; however, his proudest achievement was his family and friends. The simple gesture of treating his friends and family to dinner brought him the most joy. An avid adventure-seeker, Frank also enjoyed backcountry skiing, deep-sea fishing, golfing, tennis, boxing, traveling, attending Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers games, and exploring Napa Valley vineyards with a glass of wine in his hand.
Possessing a larger-than-life persona and presence, Frank was a special man with an incredible zest for life. His sunny disposition and witty sense of humor could bring a smile to anyone's day. He was a generous and prominent member of his community, always lending a helping hand in any way he could from sponsoring events to coaching YMS soccer and youth hockey. In Frank's own words on the subject of life, "It's all part of the experience." A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 9th from 5:00-8:00pm at FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home in Yardley, PA (17 S. Delaware Ave). Mass will be held Wednesday, August 10th at 10:30am at St. Ignatius Church in Yardley, PA (999 Reading Ave) with a burial to follow at 12:00pm at Newtown Cemetery in Newtown, PA (Washington Ave).
