John G. Carr, Jr. of Lower Makefield Township, PA died on Wednesday December 12, 2018. He was 81. Born in Trenton, NJ, son of the late John G. and Mary Mowery Carr, he resided in Lower Makefield for the past 67 years. John was president and owner of John G. Carr Co. Inc. in Ewing, NJ, a well respected mechanical contractor, until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of many professional organizations including Mechanical Contractors of America, Director and Past President of Mechanical Contractors of New Jersey, Engineers Club of Trenton and its Board of Directors, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 9 Education Fund Co-Chairman. He was also a devoted alumnus of Trenton Catholic High School and Villanova University Class of 1959. John performed six years of military service in the Army National Guard of New Jersey. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Perdue Carr; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Lorenzo Caldara of Lower Makefield, and Suzanne and Taylor Yancey of Cumming, GA; twin sister, Patricia Soltis of Lower Makefield; four grandchildren, Abigail and Olivia Caldara, and Bryce and Peyton Yancey, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the brother of the late Clifford Allgor. Friends may call from 5pm to 7pm Sunday at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, PA. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am Monday at Holy Trinity Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, PA. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Lower Makefield.
