Ann D. Kettles of Lower Makefield Township, PA died on Tuesday March 12, 2019. She was 88. Born in Gary, IN, a daughter of the late Andrew and Marguerite Sullivan Dougherty, she resided in Lower Makefield for the past 48 years. Ann, who was from a large family, had a large family of her own, raising six children along with her late husband, James. She was very involved with her children's schooling and outside activities along with maintaining a 30 year career in the Admissions Office of Rider University. At Rider Ann loved her time together with the students and was actively involved in student Work Study. After her retirement from Rider she went on to work for a software start-up VirtualEdge/ADP for the next 9 years where she again left a positive impact and made many new friends. In her retirement, Ann enjoyed traveling and having fun with family and friends. Wife of the late James F. Kettles, mother of the late James F. Kettles, Jr., and sister of the late Kathleen Hubble, James, Jack and Andrew Dougherty, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Lori Kettles of Clarkesville, GA, and Frank and Deirdre Kettles of Lower Makefield Twp., PA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristie and Russ Ferri of Lower Makefield Twp., PA, Peggy and Jack Ockford of Upper Makefield Twp., PA, and a daughter Jayne Kettles and her partner, Diane Smith of New Hope, PA; two sisters, Madge Kollar of Dune Acres, IN, and Margie Grecco of Crown Point, IN; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Friday March 22nd from 9:30am to 10:45am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, PA. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am. Burial will follow. Ann loved the Special Olympics and National Public Radio.
