Obituary of Shirley L. Castaldi

Shirley L. Castaldi of Yardley, PA passed away on Tuesday March 26, 2019 at her home after a brief illness. She was 89. Born in Berryville, VA, daughter of the late Milton and Irma McKay Lee, she had been a resident of Yardley for 53 years. She was the beloved wife of the late William Castaldi and devoted mother of Theresa Slivka (Robert), and Lisa Castaldi (Jack), and loving grandmother of Christopher Slivka, whom she treasured and embraced every moment with. After beginning a career as a Federal Court stenographer, Shirley moved to Pennsylvania to be a homemaker. She was actively engaged in community organizations: the Welcome Wagon, the BPOE Fairless Lodge 2023, Loyal Order of Moose, March of Dimes and the Newtown & Pennsbury Lions Clubs where she served as President of both clubs. Her service at the Valley Day School in Morrisville was long standing and multi faceted as both a volunteer and member of its Board of Directors. Shirley was enthusiastic about bingo, scrabble, casinos and travel. Funeral services will be at 11:30am Monday April 1st at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, PA, where friends may call from 10am. Burial will follow at Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Day School, 300 Allendale Drive, Morrisville, PA 19067.
