Robert (Bob) L Chamberlain Sr, 94 of Morrisville, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 2nd at Attleboro Nursing and Rehab Center after short illness. Born and raised in Yardley Bob graduated from Yardley High School class of 1943. Shortly after he joined the Army Air Corp. He was schooled at Niagara University and received flight training in California and Arizona at Luke Field. As a Flight Aviator they prepared for the invasion of Japan. While in Phoenix he met his wife, Ada Eccles. They married in 1945 and returned to Yardley to start a family a year later. Bob, along with his brother Jack became the first walking mailmen in Yardley. He had a passion for flying and was active in the Air Force Reserves and Civil Air Patrol until he was asked to join the New Jersey Air National Guard in 1964. He flew fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. After nearly 20 years he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 and soon after retired from the Postal Service. Bob and Ada loved to spend time at their summer home in Mystic Islands, NJ. They enjoyed boating, fishing and the company of family and friends. They liked to travel, frequently making visits to Nova Scotia, Canada and Phoenix, AZ. Bob was very dedicated and generous to his family, always wanting what's best for them to succeed. Bob was a proud lifetime member and past commander of the Yardley American Legion, Knowles - Doyle Post 317, the Fairless Hills Elks Lodge 2023, the 112th Field Artillery Association in Lawrenceville, NJ. He was a past member of the MICA Club in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Bob was predeceased by his father Clarence Chamberlain, mother Elizabeth (Kish) Chamberlain, wife Ada (Eccles) Chamberlain, brother Richard Chamberlain, granddaughters Melissa Chamberlain, Jill Chamberlain, and daughter in law Jessie Chamberlain. He is survived by his four children. Lee Martin of Marietta GA, Robert Chamberlain Jr of Ozark AR, David (Rebecca) Chamberlain of Statesville NC, and Jeff (Patricia) Chamberlain of Levittown. His brother Jack (Shirley) Chamberlain of Newmanstown PA, 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great/Great Great Grandchildren and his special friend and neighbor Connie Sancinito. Friends are invited to call from 6pm to 8pm Tuesday April 9th at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, PA. Funeral services with Military Honors will be at 11am Wednesday at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA . In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Wounded Warrior Project or the ALS Foundation, Greater Philadelphia Chapter
