Obituary of Olga J. Fleming
Please share a memory of Olga to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Olga J. Fleming passed away peacefully on Monday April 15, 2019.
Born in New York City, Olga grew up in the Bronx with her parents Nicholas and Carolyn Klimnik. She was proud of her Russian and Polish heritage. She met her husband, the love of her life, William ( Bill ) Fleming through a local priest when Bill came home from the service. They were married and eventually moved to Yardley in 1956. It was here that Olga and Bill created a warm and loving family with three surviving children, Jeanne, Kathleen and John. Olga is also survived by John's wife, Amy, and their sons, Jack and William; and Kathy's husband, Steve Leng.
Olga loved her family life and her home in Yardley. She cherished being a wife and mother and enjoyed family vacations at the shore and simple cookouts with Bill at the grill on the patio. She later enjoyed travelling with Bill out west and to Ireland, England and Italy.
Olga was a shining light in so many peoples' lives. She was kind, compassionate, generous and feisty. She took delight in life's simple pleasures and she shared her joyful spirit and kind heart with others. She was a dear and loyal friend.
Her Catholic faith and the supportive community at St. Ignatius Parish was a treasure to Olga. They gave her support, strength and a sense of meaningful purpose, and she sustained a deep spirituality throughout her life. Olga was an active participant in many functions at St. Ignatius.
Olga loved sewing, quilting and knitting. She was part of a knitting group called "The Knit Wits" and she made hats for soldiers and children's services. A large pile of beautiful hand made hats could always be found by her chair in the den.
In the last years of her life, Olga demonstrated inspirational courage. She took one day at a time still experiencing laughter and joy in the moment. Her love of family and friends and faith in God was ever present.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Tuesday April 23rd from 10 am to 11 am at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Aid for Friends at St. Ignatius in Yardley or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
