Obituary of Patricia A. Higham

Patricia Ann Higham (nee Bills) passed away on April 16, 2019. Remaining behind with beautiful, heartwarming memories are Patricia's husband, William, and daughters, Colleen and Kelley, as well as many nieces, nephews, and relatives. Patricia was a friend to all, a woman of love and tenderness towards everyone she met. Possessed of a wonderful sense of humor, she was a generous, caring, gentle woman who had a flair for decorating and loved celebrating holidays. Any time a group gathered, it was a time to celebrate. She made life a party, was a terrific hostess, full of love, laughs and friendship. Her life was full, spending time travelling, as a member of her book club, playing mah-jongg, throwing parties or holiday celebrations with friends and family. She was a member, and president, of the Yardley Questers Spoke And Handle Chapter #693, Bucks County Neighbors, and the Perpetual Adoration Chapel at St. Ignatius Church in Yardley. Patricia was a retired Operating Room nurse at Mercer Medical Center in Trenton, NJ, and a Past President of the Central NJ Chapter of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN). After retirement, she worked for Dr. Harold Schell in Ewing, NJ. She received her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Bucks County Community College. Her knowledge and compassion was appreciated by professional staff and patients alike. Friends and family are invited to call from 5pm to 8pm Tuesday, April 23, at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road) Yardley, PA. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Wednesday, April 24, at Holy Trinity Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, PA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to YWCA Princeton Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC), or the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA).
