Cheryl Cook Sherrard of Yardley died Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 at St. Mary Medical Center with her family and friends by her side. Cheryl was born in Trenton, NJ, on December 18, 1946 to Kenneth Franklin Cook and Dorothy Lambert Cook. Cheryl graduated from Hamilton High School West, Hamilton NJ and attended Helene Fuld nursing school She was a retired registered nurse, and throughout her career, she worked at Helene Fuld Hospital, Princeton Medical Center, St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and Southeastern Home Health Care. She was passionate about patient care. Cheryl loved spending time with her friends and family and was always busy planning the next gathering. She was very active in her church communities throughout her life, from Broad Street United Methodist Church in Trenton, NJ, to Morrisville United Methodist Church, Morrisville, PA and most recently St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Yardley. She was a true "Jersey girl"; she never pumped her own gas and loved sand between her toes. Cheryl is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Nuzzolo (David) of New Hope, Jill Rea (Jonathan) of Yardley; grandchildren, Jacob Rea, Madeline Rea, and Garrett Nuzzolo; brother, Kenneth R. Cook of New Braunfels, TX; lifelong "sister" Gail Hatcher of San Antonio, TX; and beloved companion Mark Allen of Trevose, PA. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Marcus Sherrard, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Jessie, Quinn, Patrick, Abigail, Grant, Corinne, and Shawn Nuzzolo. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 1pm, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 47 W. Afton Ave., Yardley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing and visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, June 11th from 5 to 8 pm at FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Ave., Yardley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Cheryl's name to: Pennsbury Scholarship Foundation, Box 338, 134 Yardley Avenue, Fallsington, PA 19058, or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Mary Medical Center and ever present compassionate clergy and friends.
