Sharon Violet Sheiman Sharon Violet Sheiman of Yardley, PA, died on Sunday June 30, 2019 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA after a brave battle with Leukemia. Born on February 12, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and G. Judith Edelman and beloved sister of the late Martin Edelman. She attended Martin Van Buren High School in Queens and graduated from Cornell University in 1965 with a BS in Child Development. After graduation, Sharon taught elementary school in Harlem and Syracuse, New York before moving to California in 1969. During her time in California, she worked in real estate and eventually retired from Prudential in 2002 as a relocation project manager. She relocated to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in 2006 to be closer to her family. A lover of the animals and the arts, Sharon dedicated her time to working with non-profits in both areas. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Carolyn Sheiman of Summit, NJ; three grandchildren, Kate, Anna, and Jack Sheiman, her niece, Kathy Edelman and husband Wayne Kuegel in addition to many close friends throughout the country. A private family service will be held in California. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at giving.mskcc.org
