Obituary of Leona Farrell

Leona Farrell Leona (Schmerer) Farrell (née Katz) of Yardley, PA passed on Friday, November 20, 2020 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA due to complications of a stroke. She was 95. Born in New York, NY, daughter of the late Sidney and Dorothy (née Weber) Schmerer, formerly of Fresh Meadows, Queens, NY, was predeceased by Philip J. Farrell, her husband of 62 years. Lee has resided in Yardley for the past four years. Lee had a successful career as a Supervisor Lab Technician for Lab-Aids, Inc. Besides raising her family, she was a committed advocate for rescued dogs. Lee loved Broadway tunes and classical music. She was an avid reader of detective novels, painted in oils, enjoyed crossword puzzles and her iPad. The last few years, she was learning to differentiate bird calls. Lee is survived by two daughters, Linda Ann Stolfa and her husband Philip Stolfa, Dorothy Farrell Commander and her husband Keith Commander, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A private Zoom service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to local animal (no kill) shelters. She will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
