Giarratano family - Our deepest condolences. Gladys was such a friendly and caring neighbor. We will never forget the day, more than 35 years ago, when she decided to mow our front lawn because we had just moved into the house next door and with all of the chaos had not yet had time to buy a lawnmower; she knew we needed help, and she just stepped in and did it! That was the kind of neighbor she was. We will miss her deeply.

I will always credit my love of antiques and reading cookbooks to dear Aunt Gladys. Her unwavering devotion to Uncle Nino was inspiring. We deeply anticipated her visits and loved traveling from Iowa to their home in Pennsylvania. These days were filled with laughter, delicious food, and wonderful stories. She was a brilliant woman and a tenacious medical advocate and researcher. Even into her eighties, my mom (her older sister Ellen) would get so excited for their sleepovers. The two would stay up all night tenderly reminiscing about their childhood in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Aunt Gladys will be greatly missed.
With love and my deep sympathy,
Jennie Kronthal
