Norma Lois Hazard Brice

 

Norma Hazard Brice, age 89, of Lower Makefield Township passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the Arden Courts nursing home.  Born in Shady Side, Maryland, (South of Annapolis, MD) on August 12, 1931, Norma Brice waas the daughter of the late Judge Norman T. Hazard and Anna Heinrich Hazard.

Norma was the beloved wife of C. Carroll Brice III for 66 years.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first.  Norma Brice is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.  Her children and their families are (1) Marcia Ann Brice, her husband Wayne Martorelli, and their sons Drew and Neal Martorelli {wife Cora Nelson}; (2) Lisa Brice Bush and her children Sarah and Bryan Bush; (3) Charles (Chuck) C. Brice IV, his wife Cecile Boisde, and their children, Alexandra {husband Dylan McClister}, and Charles (Charlie) C. Brice V; and (4) David H. Brice, his wife Florence Meldau and their children Lucy {husband Burke Kane} and Forrest Brice.

Norma attended Southern High School in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Towsen State Teachers College, and Annapolis Business School.  It was while at Annapolis Business School that she became good friends with a classmate who in turn later introduced Norma to her cousin.  Norma and the cousin were married in July of 1954. 

After graduation from Annapolis Business School, Norma took a job with Selective Service where she worked during the Korean War.  When she married, she moved to the Camden, New Jersey area where her husband had a new job.  There she took a position at the College of South Jersey, Rutgers Extension, as assitant registrar.

Norma was an active member of the "Church of the Incarnation", Morrisville, PA.  At Christmas she enjoyed making pine cone wreaths to be sold by the church.  She was most proud of being co-chair for several years for the Church annual flea-market which each year attracted over a hundred vendors.  At home she enjoyed making crafts which included cloth clowns for her grandchildren.

Norma and her husband enjoyed vacations at the Jersey Shore witht their children and grandchildren accompanying them during the early years of their marriage and friends in the later years.  For several years vacatiuons were taken at Lake Wallenpaupack in the Pocono Mountains.  Norma and Carroll were members of the Lower Makefield Seniors organization and participated in some of its activities such as the monthly luncheon with speakers.  They also enjoyed two cruises sponsored by the Seniors organization:  one to Bermuda and a second cruise to Canada.

Funeral services will be at 10am, Saturday June 12, 2021, at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, 1505 Makefield rd., Morrisville, PA 19067 where friends can gather beginning at 9:30am.
