I have so many fond memories from childhood of the summer days spent on the little plot of land Grandma and Grandpop owned in the woods of S.I., and from the many "cook-outs" we had in our backyard before the move upstate. Good family, good food, good times. She looked up to and respected my Dad (her oldest brother), and yet... was one of the few who could cut him off mid rant with a couple of calm sentences! Not an easy task!
I will always remember Aunt Maria as kind, empathetic and compassionate, devoting all of her energies to the needs of others. She was the powerful matriarch of her family of which she was so very very proud!
With love and sympathy,
Patrice
