Obituary of Harry R. McCarty

Harry R. McCarty Harry R. McCarty of Lower Makefield Township, PA died on Saturday August 21, 2021 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. He was 82. Born in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late Harry C. and Janet Maben McCarty, he had resided in Lower Makefield for the past 44 years. After college and service in the US Army, Harry began his business career with the YMCA national organization in New York City, eventually becoming President of its Railroad Transportation Division. In 1977, Harry and his family moved to Lower Makefield, and he joined the growing Bucks County real estate industry. With stops at various agencies, Harry became the President of the Bucks County Board of Realtors, taught at the Princeton School of Real Estate, served on the Realtors Political Action Committee, and was President of Synergy Real Estate Corporation. He was also Broker of Record for Marco Polo Real Estate in New Hope, PA. Besides a fulfilling family life, Harry was "all in" at the New Life Christian Church in Newtown, PA. A former Deacon, he taught the Men's Bible Study Group, participated in Sunday School educational activities, and added his rich voice to the Choir. Harry was also a member of the F&MA Newtown Lodge 427. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Allen McCarty; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret L., and Robert A. Badman, Jr., and Michele J. and Jeffrey S. Fecher, all of Lower Makefield; brother, Kenneth W. McCarty, and sister Lois J. Okaily, both of Vero Beach, FL, and five grandchildren, Robert J. (Rachel) Badman, Alexander M. Badman, Matthew A. Badman, Mikayla S. Fecher, and Jeffrey S. Fecher, Jr. Harry's funeral service will be at 7pm Friday August 27th at the New Life Christian Church, 4 Freedom Drive, Newtown, PA, where friends may call from 5:15pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Christian Church or to The Navigators Ministry, www.navigators.org
