Karen J. DeMario

Karen Jean DeMario of Morrisville, PA passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her home. She was 68.

A lifelong Morrisville resident, Karen was a graduate of Morrisville High School, Bucks County Community College and The College of New Jersey, (formerly Trenton State College) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Karen found her calling as a third grade teacher and began her career for her newfound love for children. She began her teaching career with the Immaculate Conception School in Trenton, NJ. She then made the transition to the public school system, by accepting a position at the University Heights School in the Hamilton NJ School District. She reluctantly retired from her love of teaching in 2016 after 40 successful years in her profession. Karen was much loved by her students and most admired by her colleagues.

Karen was a perfectionist in her garden, inside her home, her love of ‘The Oldies’, entertaining with friends and in personal matters. She was a joy to be with and always wanted to give the best of impressions, always!

She was the daughter of the late Joseph Lanczak and Margaret (nee: Takach) Lanczak, wife of the late Richard DeMario, and mother of the late Kristen and Meghan DeMario. Karen is survived by her brother, Robert Lanczak, and her companion, Robert Camilleri, her dear nephew Bryan DeMario, many cousins and numerous friends, too many to mention.

Calling to pay final respects, the morning of the funeral will be held at 9am at the funeral home. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday September 14, 2021 at Holy Trinity Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, PA. Burial will follow Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Friends may call from 5pm to 8pm Monday at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, PA.
