Dorothy G. Fitzgerald

Dorothy G. Fitzgerald of Newtown, PA passed away on Thursday September 23, 2021 at Chandler Hall. She was 89 years old.

Born in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Stanley and Marie Pawlikowski Ruczkewski, she resided in Lower Makefield for 48 years before moving to Newtown last year.

Dorothy was a gifted homemaker. She had a wonderful way about her in hosting big holiday get togethers. Dorothy loved animals, enjoyed boating on the waters of the Metedeconk River and the bay at Point Pleasant NJ, and, most of all, being the devoted “Mimi” to her beloved grandchildren.

Wife of the late Gerald R. Fitzgerald and mother of the late Kevin T. Fitzgerald, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Craig Chapin and their children, Corey, Sara and Kyle Chapin; children of the late Kevin Fitzgerald, Timothy and Brandon Fitzgerald; daughter, Cynthia Plantamura and her children, Peter Plantamura and Michele Warfel; son, Rick Saccani; daughter Allison Sheehan, and her children, Caitlin, Peter, and Nora Sheehan. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Wednesday September 29, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, PA, where friends may call from 9:30am. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Yardley, PA.
