Frederick F. Cerny of Lower Makefield Township, PA died peacefully on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at his home. He was 87.

Born in New York, NY, son of the late Frederick L. and Augusta (Werning) Cerny, he resided in Lower Makefield for the past 42 years.

Fred’s time at Hunter College was interrupted by his induction into the US Army during the Korean War. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Army Artillery, he completed his studies at Hunter and later received his Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University. Fred began a career with the United Way and retired from the well-known charitable organization as its Vice President of the Northern Hemisphere.

He was a popular neighbor at Makefield Glen and served as President of its Condo Association. Fred always had time to lend a hand.

He is survived by his son, Sean Cerny, his son Matt Cerny and his daughter in-law Sharon, his son Barrie Cerny, his son Greg Cerny and his daughter in law Jill; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and John Seaner; his former wife, Mary Cerny, and four grandchildren; Colin Seaner, Aribella Seaner, Ryan Cerny and Madeleine Cerny.

A service with Military Honors will be held at 1PM on Tuesday November 16th at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA.
