Thayer Catherine Moorcroft

Thayer Catherine Moorcroft (née Hornbeck), born November 21, 1946 in Forest City PA, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, peacefully at her home. She grew up in Fairless Hills, PA and was a resident of Yardley, PA for the past 33 years.

As a graduate of Pennsbury High School, Thayer entered the workforce working in the banking industry up until the birth of her daughter. She enjoyed many years as a stay-at-home mom and later returned to banking in an administrative position at Cenlar in Ewing, NJ up until her retirement. Her hobbies included skiing, sewing, crafting outstanding Halloween costumes for her daughter, cooking, pop culture, fashion, laughing, dancing, rock & roll, and collecting things. Thayer was known for her infectious laugh and sense of humor that could light up any social gathering. Some of her most cherished memories were spent relaxing with friends and family at the family cottage on Lewis Lake in Uniondale, PA.

Our beloved Thayer has left this life to join in heaven her husband, Richard Moorcroft; brother, Edward Pentecost; mother, Agnes Jones Pentecost; father, Edward Giles Pentecost, and loving grandparents. She is survived by her daughter, Katie Moorcroft; daughter-in-law, Noelle Gabovitz; two sisters, Penny Bolla and Carol Sejd, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Thayer was blessed with a loving family and would often say how proud she was of her family and how lucky we were to have each other. While her family grieves her loss, they take comfort knowing that Richie and Thayer are together again. Her mother would always say they were two peas in a pod and belonged together.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Friday, March 4, 2022, at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA, where friends may call from 10:30AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Newtown, PA.

Friends and family wishing to honor Thayer are invited to send flowers to the church or make a donation in her name to any of the following charities.
