Julia Makara Obituary

Julia Makara, 97, passed away April 8, 2017, at Crestview Center, Langhorne, Pa. where she resided for the past 8 months. She lived in South Philadelphia for her entire life, where she was a devoted parish member of Holy Assumption Russian Orthodox Church. Julia was an expert seamstress, loved to crochet, and enjoyed gardening. She also loved baking delicious cheregis for her family - much to their delight. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Makara, her loving sisters, Mary Kavchok, Anna Varhula, Helen Alexander, Pauline Zak, a brother John Makara and their spouses. She is survived by her beloved sister Margaret Klutchka and many nieces and nephews, and their children. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 9:00am to 9:45 am at FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue, Yardley, PA. A Panikhida service will be performed immediately after visitation. Burial will follow at Newtown Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
