Patricia B. Ellis, 91, passed away peacefully in her home, Sunday April 9th, surrounded by her loved ones. Pat was born September 17, 1925 in County Derry, Ireland to Patrick and Grace Hampson. At the age of three, Pat immigrated to the United States and grew up in Trenton, NJ where she then met her lifelong love, Lee Ellis. Pat and Lee spent their 60-year marriage together in Yardley, PA. Pat was a dedicated employee for the New Jersey State Police for many years. In their later years, they moved to Egg Harbor Township and resided with their daughter Sharon, son in law James, and many grandchildren. Known to everyone as "Nana", she was a people person, always outgoing and energetic. Nana was devoted to her family and grateful for the many friendships she made throughout her life. Her love of card playing, trips to the Casino and games of chance kept her young at heart. Nana embraced her Irish heritage with a personality that epitomized the Claddagh symbolism- "Hand for Friendship, Hearts for Love, Loyalty throughout the year, the crown is raised above." Survived by brother, Edward Hampson ; sister-in-law, Doris Ferguson ( William ); brother-in-law, Richard Ellis ( Virginia ), and, sister-in-law, Judith Hampson. Also survived by her daughter Sharon Rossi, son-in-law James Rossi, daughter-in-law Carol Ellis, grandchildren Mark Rider (Kathryn), Lauren Rider-Terzini (Justin), Jonathan (Elba), Matthew and Scott Rossi, great grandsons, Campbell Rider, Brayden and Dean Terzini; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Elwood Lee Ellis, son Lee Ellis, grandson Jeffery Rider, bothers Vincent (Mary) and Robert Hampson and sister Marie (George) Kuhn. Her funeral service and interment at Newtown Cemetery will be held privately. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Heart Association or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
