Grace M. McDade

Grace Manning McDade, 86, of Lower Makefield Township, PA died on Tuesday December 6, at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA.

Born in Trenton, NJ, daughter of the late Bernard and Grace (Haney) Manning, she was formerly of Trenton, NJ, and Morrisville, PA but has called Yardley (Lower Makefield) home for the past 49 years.

Grace was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Trenton, NJ and Temple University. She worked in an important area of public service as an Adoption Resource Coordinator for the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services, from which she retired in 2004. Grace and her late husband raised their four children in Lower Makefield.  She was a member of St. Ignatius Parish and enjoyed playing bridge in several clubs.

Grace had a great sense of humor and quick wit.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She loved spending time with family and friends, and “never met a stranger.” She always had time to chat or listen and offer words of encouragement. She enjoyed reading biographies, following investment and financial news and made the best potato salad.  Grace will be deeply missed.

Wife of the late Edward J. McDade, she is survived by three sons; Brian McDade of Lower Makefield, Matthew McDade of Doylestown, PA, and Neil McDade of Columbus, NJ; her daughter and son-in-law, Dana McDade and Jeffrey Grossman of Newtown, PA; four grandchildren, Danielle McDade, Liam Behan, and Mallory and Kara Grossman, and one great grandchild, Alessa. Grace was predeceased by her brother Bernard J. Manning.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday January 10, 2023 at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA, where friends may call from 10am. Inurnment will follow at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart or the American Heart Association.
