Please share a memory of Deacon Myron to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Deacon Myron Moskowitz, 73, of Newtown, passed away on January 6, 2023, The Feast of the Epiphany. Born in The Bronx, NY, he has been a Newtown resident for the past 9 years, having relocated from Yardley. Myron was a retired Archdiocesan high school teacher. He taught Theology, and Physical Education. One of the things he loved most was mentoring students with troubled backgrounds. He had received his BA from Lehman College in NYC, and studied for the Diaconate at the St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Prior to teaching, he was a real estate property manager in NYC. Myron was a convert from Judaism who loved Jesus with his whole heart. He was ordained to the Diaconate in 2011. He loved serving on the altar and helping people to connect with their faith. Myron, along with his wife Mary, was a co-coordinator of RCIA at St. Ignatius Church in Yardley. He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Twins. Myron was a man of great humor and could tell jokes for hours. People loved his straight forward attitude and his "what you see is what you get" style. He led with his heart. Son of the late Irving and Marcine (Pascoe) Moskowitz, he is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Mary (Dobriansky) Moskowitz of Newtown, his children Russell Moskowitz and his wife Michele of Bergenfield, NJ, and Jessica Rodas and her husband Fernando of NYC, six grandchildren, a brother Ira Moskowitz of NYC, many friends and cousins, and his buddy, Simon the cat. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 11:00am at the Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church 1900 Meadowbrook Rd. Feasterville, PA 19053. Calling hours will be held at the church on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, and again on Wednesday morning from 9:30am to 11:00am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery 291 Durham Rd. Newtown, PA 18940. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org). Arrangements are under the care of the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Ave. Yardley, PA 19067. Condolences for the family can be left at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.
