Obituary of Rosanne P. Ferrante
Please share a memory of Rosanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosanne Ferrante
Rosanne Ferrante, 96, formerly of Yardley, PA, died peacefully on March 16, 2023 at the home of her daughter.
Rose was born in Trenton, NJ to the late Frank Palmieri and Sarah Hannan Palmieri. She lived in Yardley with her late husband, Angelo Ferrante, for almost 70 years.
Rose was never at a loss for what to say: if she wasn't offering the sagest advice around, she was making you laugh until you couldn't breathe. Even in her twilight years, her wise-cracking spirit continued as she often made jokes to her caretakers. Her strong faith was her lighthouse in life; she would often reminisce about how she would point to the Sacred Heart of Jesus picture in her living room and tell visitors that "He is my best friend." She desired to spread this divine friendship with others, and when she went to Holy Hour every week with Angelo, she left prayer cards, St. Benedict medals, and Miraculous Medals for others to take. One of her greatest honors in life was when St. Padre Pio accepted her and her family as his spiritual children in the 1960s.
She is survived by her brother, Frank Palmieri of New York, NY; two sons, Frank Ferrante of Yardley, PA, and Michael (Diana) Ferrante of Middleton, WI; her daughter, Mary Ann Poole of Haddam, CT, and five grandchildren: Marie Novais of TX, E. Michael Poole of NH, Joseph Ferrante of MD, John Ferrante of NY, and Catherine Ferrante of WI. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary (Harry) Masterson of Ewing, NJ, and Palma (Augie) Suozzo of Stockton, NJ and Ellicott City, MD, her brother- and sister-in-law Joseph (Barbara) Ferrante and her nephews, Msgr. Joseph Ferrante and Larry Ferrante, both of Trenton, and Harry Masterson, Jr. of Ewing.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on April 3, 2023, at 12:00pm at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. Interment will be in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA alongside her beloved husband. Arrangements are under the care of the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Ave. Yardley, PA 19067. Condolences for the family can be left at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.
